Monotony
I’m shredding papers at work. This shredder was not meant to handle the sheer volume of paper we put through it, so it’s smoking.
I’m a little worried that it’s going to spontaneously combust. I keep giving it breaks, which is why I’m posting here.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest comes out tomorrow, and I’m ridiculously excited. I adored the first movie (even wrote a paper about it), and I’ve been hearing good things about the second one. Here’s hoping for more deliciously queer subtext. :D If nothing else, the actors are pretty, and I’m shallow enough to enjoy a movie for that alone. I’ll post a quick review of it after seeing it tomorrow.
Whoa, serious shredder smoke. I should let it rest for a few more minutes. One of these days, we’ll get an industrial shredder. Probably after the summer is over and I’ve gone back to the writing center.
Soo… what else can I ramble about? I’ve been making fanlistings, also known as the most useless websites ever created. They’re fun, though, and I really enjoy designing them. At the moment, I’ve got a Marton Csokas fanlisting and a Wolverine/Jean Grey fanfic fanlisting in the works. I just finished one for the Wolf/Virginia pairing in The 10th Kingdom. I love my obscure fandoms. I need to finish redoing the menu for my personal site. This is more of a note to myself than anything anyone reading this would care about, hehe.
Next week, the second summer semester starts. I’m taking two classes, one of which is graduate-level. I think my head just might explode. Lucky the fall shouldn’t be too terribly strenuous. I’m only taking one class that actually meets (the last science class I need), an English online class, a French independent study, and my thesis.
Uh oh, running out of things to ramble about. Wait! The old fallback! My Sims! I’m building a new house for my Wolverine/Jean Grey family. I like the one they’re in now, but it’s big and sprawling, and it’s hard to keep up with toddlers and kids’ homework in big, sprawling Sim houses. So, they’ll soon be moving into a big, compact house.
Er… food. I’m dying for Indian food all of the sudden. Charles was talking about the Clay Pit yesterday evening, and now I’m craving naan and chicken korma and kheer. And it’s Mango Month at the Clay Pit. I’ve got to go sometime in July and try some of their mango curries. I can make my own, but it’s so much better to have someone else (who’s professionally trained, hehe) do it for you.
This poor shredder is going to die a horrible death soon.

Korma is next to godliness–the mango lassi at the Clay Pit is calling–ah, yes, the wonders of Dallas! And, by the way, I’m making myslef read Harry Potter #1 :)

“Mango month” is my mantra!
