Excuse me. I must fangirl.

Who the hell is Marton Csokas, you might ask? Just the hottest man to come out of New Zealand (though fans of Karl Urban might disagree, hehe). Americans might recognize him as the baddie from several movies, including xXx (which I watched only for Marton), Kingdom of Heaven, and Timeline, and he was most recently seen in Æon Flux, which was released on DVD this past Tuesday, and which is a hell of a lot better, IMO, than the critics made it out to be.
He’s so sexy, seeing him on screen sets my panties aflame. He’s not just a gorgeous face, though. IMO, he’s a very underrated actor in the States, and his Australian and Kiwi films prove that. Hurrah, which is damn near impossible to find in the US, is excellent, as is Rain, a 2001 film from New Zealand. He excels at playing characters with an edge of dislikability who are still strangely compelling.

In Asylum, an independent British film from 2005, Marton plays Edgar, a man imprisoned in a mental hospital in 1950s England for brutally murdering his wife. Stella, played by Natasha Richardson, finds herself fascinated by him and enters a destructive affair with the inmate. Edgar is not a nice person. He is obsessive and morbidly jealous, but Marton plays him as both childlike and intense, and I found myself torn between being frightened of him and obsessed with him, just like Stella. Marton’s performance in Asylum was sadly overlooked by the critics, but it’s definitely worth a watch. Marton is brutally sexual and deeply vulnerable at the same time.

Okay, serious stuff aside… Marton causes me to spontaneously ovulate. Case in point:

Marton and Hugo (haha, just typoed that as Huge; my Freudian slip is showing) are proof that God is a woman.

    And a fangirl at that.
